Destiny 2 Indebted Kindness God Roll Guide

Indebted Kindness is an arc rocket-assisted frame sidearm introduced in the Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon during Season of the Wish. Rocket-assisted sidearms are amazing in PvE, but are almost always terrible in PvP. The Indebted Kindness was the first of its kind and has remained a solid option since its introduction. As of Episode Revenant, this weapon is not enhanceable, so it cannot access enhanced traits. This guide will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Indebted Kindness sidearm.

How to Get Indebted Kindness in Destiny 2

You obtain the Indebted Kindness from the Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon in the EDZ (European Dead Zone). The Indebted Kindness can drop from every encounter in the dungeon. To access Warlord’s Ruin, you must own the Lightfall Dungeon Key and pick up the quest In the Shadow of the Mountain from Ikora Rey at the Tower. Furthermore, you can also get the weapon from the secret chests found throughout the dungeon.

What Is the Indebted Kindness God Roll in Destiny 2?

For the most part, a god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. Because they are the best version of a weapon, they are highly sought after. Because the sandbox differs in PvE and PvP, there are typically god rolls for each one. As a rocket-assisted frame sidearm, the Indebted Kindness is effective in PvE with almost any roll, but it has options that are of course Best-in-Slot. Conversely, as a rocket-assisted frame sidearm, it’s terrible in PvP. This juxtaposition is true of all of the rocket sidearms.

The following list is the best perks for the Indebted Kindness PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Launcher Barrel: Quick Launch
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Column 3 Trait: Lead from Gold
  • Column 4 Trait: Voltshot
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed
  • Origin Trait: Sundering
  • Weapon Mod: Back-Up Mag

PvE Breakdown

Rocket-assisted sidearms like Indebted Kindness are considered among the best weapons to use in almost any PvE activity. While their ammo economy was nerfed in Episode Revenant, they are still considered S-Tier by the community at large due to their sheer power. Most people who use them often use them in conjunction with another special weapon, treating the Rocket Sidearm like a more powerful primary weapon.

Indebted Kindness was the first rocket-assisted sidearm in Destiny 2. Sidearms of its archetype benefit from increasing its Velocity, Handling, and Reload Speed. While normally Appended Mag is a go-to option on PvE weapons, Flared Magwell is the better pick for the magazine slot because of its synergy with Voltshot. Quick Launch is a nice pick in the barrel slot to increase Velocity and Handling. Previously, we would have said that Beacon Rounds was the best option for Column 3, but with the nerf to ammo economy, Lead from Gold is going to be one of the better perks to have. Voltshot is a powerful option in general and will synergize well with arc builds.

Indebted Kindness is a bit harder to obtain than its newer peers in its archetype, but that doesn’t mean it is not worth going for. Because of its arc synergy, it can be a powerful tool with various arc builds. Overall, its a solid option for PvE.

Other PvE Rolls of Note

  • Beacon Rounds / Voltshot
    • A slightly more powerful option with worse ammo economy

PvP Indebted Kindness God Roll

The best perks for the Indebted Kindness PvP God Roll are Hard Launch, High-Velocity Rounds, Impulse Amplifier, and Adagio. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Indebted Kindness PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Launcher Barrel: Hard Launch
  • Magazine: High-Velocity Rounds
  • Column 3 Trait: Impulse Amplifier
  • Column 4 Trait: Adagio
  • Masterwork: Handling
  • Origin Trait: Sundering
  • Weapon Mod: Targeting Adjuster

PvP Breakdown

Rocket-assisted sidearms like Indebted Kindness are not very popular in PvP. While their damage is decent, they are projectile weapons rather than hitscan. This means the rocket round travels in real-time rather than the game just calculating whether it hit or not instantly, making it much harder to get a hit with. Direct hits can do a decent amount of damage, but it is difficult to do. This is only made worse by the fact that, as a special weapon, ammo for rocket-assisted sidearms is limited.

In PvP activities, rocket-assisted sidearms benefit a lesser extent from bumps in velocity, handling, and blast radius. Take perks like Hard Launch and High-Velocity Rounds to get these stats higher. Because of its increase in the velocity stat, the Impulse Amplifier is quite the best perk in Column 3. Column 4 lacks a lot of good options, with Adagio being the best option.

It is clear to see that the Indebted Kindness was designed almost exclusively with PvE play in mind. Unsurprisingly, its entire archetype suffers in PvP. So even if it did have great perks for PvP, it would still be a subpar weapon to take into the Crucible. So, while it is an easy-to-love weapon due to its overall power in PvE, make sure you swap it out for something else when you feel the need to take on your fellow guardians.
