Destiny 2 introduced a new dungeon named Sundered Doctrine. The new content takes you to the ship of Rhulk. The area is riddled with symbols that you need to be familiar with. These symbols are crucial for progression. Fortunately, these symbols are similar to the ones introduced in the Vow of Disciple Raid. This means this is not entirely new to players who have played the game.

Be Familiar With the Disciple Symbols
Before anything else, you need to make sure you are familiar with the Disciple symbol calls. If you want a refresher, you can go down the hallway and check out a room where all the symbols are located. This is before the first encounter in Destiny 2 Sundered Doctrine starts.
Initiate the Encounter
Once you are ready, interact with the central glowing lens and start the first encounter. A blank node will appear over each starting lens, which you can shoot to activate. The number of missing symbols will increase with each rotation.
Locate and Defeat a Truthspeaker Major Grim
Your next objective is to find out which symbols are missing. To solve the puzzle, you must hunt down and defeat a Truthspeaker Major Grim. Once you take one down, a symbol should be revealed to you. Afterward, find a room where you can find that specific symbol on its wall.
Defeat Subjugator To Get Lens
Your next goal is to get a lens by defeating a Subjugator boss in each room. Keep in mind that each player can only carry one lens. This is used to align the ray of darkness in the central glowing lens with the right symbol.
Rinse and Repeat Until Done
After your first rotation, you will need to repeat the same process for the remaining missing symbols. However, as you progress through the puzzle, the requirements for completing the next one will become more complex.
For example, the second symbol will require you to defeat two Grims while the third will require three more. If you make a mistake, you will have to deal with a Tormentor. Make sure you avoid making mistakes as much as possible. Once you get all the symbols needed, you will then complete the First Encounter in Destiny 2 Sundered Doctrine.
