Destiny 2 Trust God Roll and How to Get

Welcome to our Destiny 2 Trust God Roll Guide. The Trust is a Precision Frame Hand Cannon that can be obtained as a drop from Gambit as of Season of Defiance (20). Starting in Season of the Deep (21), the Trust will be able to be focused on the Drifter with Gambit Engrams.

Precision Frame Hand Cannons have a unique feel to other Hand Cannons as they have a more predictable firing pattern. They are considered niche weapons, but in the right hands they can be deadly in PvP with their faster firing rate and high accuracy. Trust was introduced in the Forsaken expansion, but was sunset during the Season of the Hunt. It was reintroduced during the Lightfall Expansion and Season of Defiance.

Why You Should Get Trust Hand Cannon?

You should get Trust Hand Cannon because it is a solar Precision Frame Hand Cannon that is easily acquired and feels unique. Solar weapons pair excellently with solar subclass builds, and Trust is no exception with its ability to roll with the Incandescent perk. Not only that, but its large perk pool allows for several great perk combinations. Here’s our list of why you should get the Trust Hand Cannon:

  • Easy to acquire as end of match drops from Gambit and eventually focusing at the Drifter
  • Extremely precise firing pattern and predictable recoil
  • Incandescent works extremely well with solar builds
  • Decent in PvP and PvE

How to Get Trust in Destiny 2?

Trust is obtained by playing Gambit and drops randomly as an end of match reward, Gambit based Weekly Challenges, or turning in Gambit Engrams. It will be able to be focused from Gambit Engrams starting in Season of the Deep (21).

PvE – Trust God Roll

The following list includes all Destiny 2 Trust God Roll traits for PvE

BarrelHammer-Forged Rifling
MagazineAlloy Magazine
Perk 1Rapid Hit
Perk 2Incandescent
Origin TraitGun and Run
MasterworkRange
ModMinor Spec

Barrel: Precision Frame Hand Cannons suffer on the range stat, so we want to try to buff that up where we can. Hammer-Forged Rifling gets a decent buff to range with no down sides.

Magazine: Alloy Magazine gives us a huge boost to reload speed on an empty magazine. Since in most cases our primary is the minor combatant clearing weapon in PvE, we are going to be emptying our magazine a lot.

Column 3 Perk: The perk pool for the Trust Hand Cannon (and all Ritual Playlist activity weapons to be fair) is huge. Fortunately, there are not a lot of bad perks in column 3. The best of these for most situations you will find yourself in is Rapid Hit to get the most bang for your buck. That being said other perks like Outlaw, Triple Tap, Heating Up, or Stats for All would also make for an amazing Hand Cannon.

Column 4 Perk: Column 4 has less fantastic perks than column 3 but there is one that stands out completely above the rest and that is Incandescent. Its powerful on its own and the synergy with solar subclasses is absolutely amazing. Other good perks to keep an eye on include Dragonfly, Rampage, Frenzy, Andrenaline Junkie, and Golden Tricorn.

Origin Trait: No choice here, but its not a terrible perk that increases sprint speed on multi-kills.

Masterwork: Since range is something Precision Frame Hand Cannons suffer with, a Range Masterwork is very helpful.

Mod: In PvE, this will mostly be an add clearing weapon so we want to do more damage to the rank and file. Minor spec is best for this.

Conclusion: Trust is definitely a jack of all trades and master of none hand cannon. It feels good to use and Incandescent can give it a nice boost. It would probably be better to opt for an Auto Rifle, a Sumachine Gun, or Pulse Rifle for PvE content in most cases.

PvP – Trust God Roll

The following list includes all Destiny 2 Trust God Roll traits for PvP

BarrelFull Bore
MagazineAccurized Rounds
Perk 1Rapid Hit
Perk 2Rangefinder
Origin TraitGun and Run
MasterworkRange
ModTargeting Adjuster

Barrel: In PvP, the accuracy cone and damage fall off needs to be effective at as far a range as possible. Full Bore gives us the biggest range boost of any Barrel perk. Hammer-Forged Rifling or Extended Barrel will also work.

Magazine: Full stop, Accurized Rounds is the absolute best perk to have for the magazine perk.

For PvP, there is also Outlaw, Opening Shot, Snapshot Sights, and Surplus. So many perks will work to make a great PvP Hand Cannon.

Column 4 Perk: While Rangefinder may be the best choice overall, perks like Explosive Payload, Eye of the Storm, Frenzy, and Incandescent also work amazingly on this Hand Cannon. Rangefinder only wins out because it helps the Range and Accuracy cone the weapon, allowing to hit targets more effectively at longer ranges.

Origin Trait: No choice here, but its not a terrible perk that increases sprint speed on multi-kills.

Masterwork: Since range is something Precision Frame Hand Cannons suffer with, a Range Masterwork is very helpful.

Mod: In PvP, Targeting Adjuster is never a bad choice. Some weapons do well with Icarus Grip, but Precision Frame Hand Cannons have terrible Arial Effectiveness; thereby making fighting in the air a not great choice.

Conclusion: Precision Frame Hand Cannons are a niche choice in PvP, but in the right hands and with the right rolls can absolutely be a force to be reckoned with. Its going to generally come down to personal preference, but they definitely shine more in PvP than PvE.
