Wuchang Fallen Feathers might be a souls-like, but it tries to differentiate itself from the traditional games of the genre in many ways. For instance, the game relies on fast-paced combat that’s not as deliberate as in Dark Souls or Elden Ring. Instead, the game’s combat system resembles that of Sekiro or Lies of P. Furthermore, the game also features a mostly straightforward story, which isn’t common for most souls-like RPGs. While the story does have its fair share of vagueness, it’s not nearly as complicated as the lore and world history of Dark Souls. However, the story of Wuchang does carry over one of the most important aspects of the souls-like genre: multiple endings.

Similar to most souls-like games, Wuchang has multiple endings, which can be obtained based on the choices you make at various points in the story. Here’s everything you need to know about Wuchang’s endings.

According to the game’s trophy list, there are a total of 4 endings in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. Each of these endings is tied to different NPC side quests and offers a vastly different outcome of the main story. As you progress through the main story, you will come across various key NPCs. These NPCs often bestow an optional side quest on Wuchang, which you can choose to pursue during your adventures. And based on the decisions you make and side quests you complete, the game’s story gradually shifts towards a specific ending.

Similar to most souls-like games, there’s no “true ending” for Wuchang Fallen Feathers. All 4 endings are viable as a canon choice (unless stated otherwise by the developers). And while some of the endings might seem a tad hostile, they still make sense within the context of the game’s story. That said, here are all the endings in Wuchang Fallen Feathers:

  • Dream’s Sweet Deceit
  • Successor of Bo
  • Bound by Fate’s Threads
  • Jarful of Medicine

The fourth ending is the most elusive as it not only requires you to complete all key NPC quests, but also defeat all the optional bosses.

Is New Game Plus (NG+) Required for All the Endings?

No, the first three endings can be obtained without going into New Game Plus. You can essentially create new save files (maximum of 10 saves allowed) and complete the steps of each of the three endings to obtain them. However, for the fourth ending, you need to play New Game Plus (NG+). This is in part due to the increased difficulty of some of the endgame bosses. Additionally, you can also get all 4 endings on the same save file. However, to do so, you will need to go up to NG+3.
