How To Get Gold, Ruby, and Wraithstone in DOOM The Dark Ages
Each chapter has set a limit on how much currency you can collect. While some are acquired along your mission path, others require more exploration.
- Since Gold is the common and basic form of currency, you can find it frequently during your runs. They are scattered throughout the world, especially in secret or hidden areas. Breaking the Gold Chests also rewards a generous amount of Gold.
- Ruby is first introduced in Chapter 4, Sentinel Barracks, and then appears in the subsequent chapters. It is obtained by interacting with statues holding a red-glowing crystal.
- Wraithstone is the rarest and most valuable currency, which first appears in Chapter 9, Ancestral Forge. The Wraithstone are purple-glowing stones held by golden statues. Interact with the statue to obtain Wraithstone, which often requires solving puzzles around the area.
Completing the challenge missions during each chapter also rewards Gold and Ruby. You can check the locations of Gold, Ruby, and Wraithstone by viewing the Automap.
How To Use the Currencies in DOOM The Dark Ages

Once you have gathered enough Gold, Ruby, and Wraithstone, you can use them to purchase upgrades at the Sentinel Shrine. These special Shrines are scattered throughout the world, with each chapter containing an average of two to four of them. Once discovered, their locations are marked on the Automap, allowing you to track them effectively.
Interact with a Sentinel Shrine to upgrade your guns, shield, and melee weapons. The cost of the upgrade varies for each. While the most basic upgrades cost Gold, most powerful ones require Ruby and Wraithstone.
