Chapter 4 of Doom The Dark Ages holds more than just enemies and objectives. It hides six secret areas, each offering something worthwhile. Some give you collectible toys. Others drop useful materials or even skins.
These aren’t just for decoration; they help you move closer to full chapter completion. If you are aiming for that 100%, you will need every single one. Let’s go over all six, one at a time.
All Secrets in Doom The Dark Ages Chapter 4 (Sentinel Barracks)
Secret Area 1: Behind the Breakable Wall
As you explore the early section of the chapter, keep your eyes peeled for a damaged wall. It’s not hard to miss if you are paying attention to the details. This wall carries a purple shield symbol. That sign always means there’s something hidden behind it. Break it down, and you will find a Hell Knight Collectible Toy inside. That’s your first hidden area done.
Secret Area 2: Above the Green Markings
Soon after, you will pass through metal corridors. Don’t move too quickly. Look for a ledge stained with a strange green liquid. Just above that ledge, there’s a skeleton glowing green. This is your cue. Throw your shield toward the skeleton. Once it lands, teleport to it. That’ll get you inside the second secret area. You can’t reach this one without that move.
Secret Area 3: Trigger the Platform
In the middle part of the chapter, you will come across a lever that isn’t placed directly in your path. Pull it. That activates a climbable section right above the corridor you are standing in. It can be easy to walk past without knowing what the lever does. But once you climb, the walkway becomes your route to the hidden spot. That’s number three on your list.
Secret Area 4: By the Collapsed Bridge
As you move closer to the Dragon’s Den, start watching the trees near a broken bridge. Behind them, there’s a climbable platform you might overlook if you are moving too fast. This path leads down to a cellar. Inside, you will find a few more places to climb. Keep going upward until you see a glowing green symbol—that’s the Life Sigil power-up. This one’s well-hidden but worth the effort.
Secret Area 5: Under the Ruby Statue
This one’s also near the Dragon’s Den. Find the section with the metal gates. If you look through them, you will notice a red Ruby statue in the distance. But don’t try going through the gates. Instead, open your map. Check the area below the platform you are standing on. You will see a path that isn’t visible at ground level. Drop down, clear the enemies ahead, and push through. Once you are through that passage, you will be right where the statue is. That’s your fifth secret.
Secret Area 6: Near the Burning Tree
The final secret waits near the end. Once you are close to your objective, the environment changes. The settlement is burning, and flaming skulls start attacking. This tells you that you are close. After dealing with the skulls, look for a circular staircase just past a burning tree at the centre. Climb up. At the top, you will find a few panicked civilians and a new skin for one of your weapons. That wraps up your sixth and final hidden area in this chapter.
