At the beginning of Chapter 4 in Doom: The Dark Ages, defending the Sentinel Barracks unlocks the Pulverizer, a weapon that uses demon skulls as ammunition and automatically supplies itself based on the size of the demon you slay. The Pulverizer is considered alright by the community in terms of damage and is good for crowd control.

Here are the best Pulverizer upgrades in Doom The Dark Ages that will make it significantly better.

Here are all the best upgrades for your Pulverizer in Doom The Dark Ages that will recycle all the demon skulls you slay:

Runic Skull

The Runic Skull upgrade for the Pulverizer will build charges based upon the size of the demon you slay. This means that the larger the demon, the more the charge. At maximum charges, the upgrade provides increased movement speed and rate of fire. Your melee also contributes to the charge build-up as well. The upgrade costs 100 gold.

So, you can just ram through entire hordes of enemies while never running out of ammo until you run out of enemies. This upgrade is the first-tier upgrade for the Pulverizer. For all upgrades to be unlocked, you need to first unlock the previous tier, so the upgrades will have to be done in sequence.

Runic Strike

The next upgrade for your Pulverizer is based on your melee attack. The upgrade costs 2 Rubies. Now, the Runic Strike lets you build and maintain your charges for the Pulverizer. This lets you slice through enemies and collect all their skulls while buffing yourself up with the Runic Skull upgrade. So, you will be constantly moving around, dodging projectiles and slaying demons. Doom The Dark Ages has taken inspiration from the bullet hell genre in this new iteration, so movement and dodging are a big part of combat now. This upgrade helps you immensely as you recharge constantly if you finish demons with the Pulverizer.

Flay

The final upgrade for the Pulverizer ensures easy clearing of groups of enemies without using ammunition. The Flay upgrade for the Pulverizer costs 1 Wraithstone. The upgrade makes the pulverizer fire more projectiles in a cone area, increasing its effective DPS (damage per second). The weapon might not be too great against high-HP enemies later on, but it is always a good way to farm some low-level demons and glide through certain demon hotspots in the game.
