Doom The Dark Ages does not have “true” Glory Kills, although you can perform finishers that might resemble this fan-favorite mechanic.

For most Doom veterans, Glory Kills have been a fan-favorite feature. Not only did it shed more light on the gruesome aspect, but it also showed Slayer’s hatred for demons. Although The Dark Ages has one of the best combat mechanics in the entire franchise, it does lack a few key elements. If you are wondering whether Doom The Dark Ages has Glory Kills, prepare for a slightly disappointing answer.
Doom The Dark Ages does not have the conventional Glory Kills. Instead, a meek finisher now replaces it, one that is only reminiscent of the Slayer’s original brutality. In this article, we will explain how you can perform this new Glory Kill or finisher mechanic in Doom The Dark Ages.
How To Perform Glory Kill Finishers in Doom The Dark Ages

To perform a finisher or a semi-Glory Kill in Doom The Dark Ages, you need to hit a specific key when you see a purple outline on an enemy. As you keep attacking a demon, it will eventually be weakened or stunned. After a certain point, the enemy will become immobile for a brief period, and a purple outline will be visible. During this time, press the key that is shown on your screen to perform a finisher move. In most cases, the finisher will be a devastating hit with your melee weapon, a shield bash, or simply a kick.

Conversely, there is one way to trigger an alternate and “truer” Glory Kill in Doom The Dark Ages as well. When you see the purple outline, run towards the enemy and jump, and then press the button that you see on your screen. In most cases, this will trigger an alternate finisher.
In this one, the Slayer jumps on the demon and stomps on its head to brutally decimate it. The Slayer might also use the Shield Saw to slice through the enemy from head to toe. While this is nowhere near the actual Glory Kills, it is still something that might recreate the effect.
Note that the purple highlight around an enemy is only momentary, and it goes away after a short while. Once gone, the enemy will once again attack you, but will go down in a single hit.
