In this guide, we shall walk you through Doom The Dark Ages’ Chapter 19, Harbor of Souls, a chapter where you play as the Undead Slayer.
Doom The Dark Ages’ Chapter 18 sees the Slayer’s journey reach its “dark night of the soul” moment. The Slayer falls to the power of the Sentinels and is then effectively bested and humiliated by Ahzrak. Ahzrak then takes Thira’s power for himself, transforming and succeeding in his goal.
With all hope lost, Chapter 19, Harbor of Souls, kicks off the final act that sees the Slayer rise from the ashes and take the fight back to Ahzrak. This is one of the most emotionally charged chapters in the game, and is just as difficult. In this guide, we shall walk you through Doom The Dark Ages’ Chapter 19, Harbor of Souls.

Harbor of Souls Full Chapter Walkthrough in Doom The Dark Ages
Doom The Dark Ages’ Harbor of Souls chapter begins with the Slayer thrown into the pits of hell, becoming undead. As you awaken in his shoes, you’re ambushed by demons in a chamber. Dispose of the demons to unlock the locked path and head to the rafters using the elevator. Interact with the console at the top to flood the chamber and escape.
Return to the Mortal Plane
Fight your way towards the objective marker along the cliffside and drop down into the cemetery-like area below. Fend off the ambush in here and proceed into the fortress ahead. Keep moving till you reach a circular arena with a water moat. At the center of this arena is an elevator that leads you up and out. You require a blue skull to use it. Kill all the enemies here and proceed along towards the marker. Large cone pikes will block your path. Break through them using your shield and continue ahead.
Right past the blockade, you will have to deal with a flamethrower trap. Power through using your shield and take the staircase on the left. Kill the enemies before you and look in the direction of the circular chamber. At the top, you will see a ledge you can climb on. Leap across and climb the ledge to obtain Gold.
Continue forward and eliminate all demons in your way. Tread slowly and be cautious of the flamethrower traps. As you continue forward, you will reach a room with a moving platform. This platform goes up, slams down into the ground, and then continues to do so in a loop. Stand on the platform and jump onto the ledge across when it is at the top. Look in the opposite direction and hit the switch with your shield. This will unlock a secret area where you find a Ruby.

To the Barge
Make your way to the fortress’ exterior and kill the horde to unlock the red door. Before you pass through, drop down to the left, just before the door, to find a Codex. Now, return to the red door and drop to the right to find another secret area.
Use the boosters and launchers nearby to get back on track. Follow the path forward, and it will lead you to a blue skull and back to the cemetery. Survive the ambush in the Cemetery and kill all enemies to obtain a Health upgrade.
Return to the circular arena and use the blue skull to take the elevator above. Make your way to the balcony ahead and follow the linear path along the cliffside to the objective marker. You will eventually reach a shrine-esque gate. A small cutscene will take you through the gate and across the bridge to the barge.
Reach the Helm
As the gameplay resumes, make your way up the deck and kill the hordes before you. You will have to fight off a Leader along the way. Use the entirety of the deck to evade and parry, and kill the miniboss to acquire a Skull Ammo upgrade.
Proceed into the quarters ahead, and you’ll have to fight more hordes along the way. Pass through the corridors and hallways, walking past traps and killing enemies. You’ll then have to ascend to the upper levels via some platforming, after which it is a straight road to the objective marker. At the end, you will find a singe hallway with a gate at the end. Interact with the gate to complete the chapter.
