After facing a powerful boss in the previous chapter, you head into Aratum on a dragon to face more enemies and thwart Prince Ahzrak’s plan by protecting the Heart of Argent.

The Holy City of Aratum in DOOM: The Dark Ages

The first objective of this chapter in DOOM: The Dark Ages is to mount your dragon and head to Atarum. This section features a flying sequence, which also serves as a tutorial to learn the flight controls. You will learn the ropes to dodging on your flying mount and the basics of Assault Mode.

Follow the path, and you will enter Aratum airspace. You must destroy the Hell Carriers attacking the cathedral. These flying warships can only be destroyed from the inside, and the exterior weapons must be destroyed to gain access. This area has a handful of hidden secrets and collectibles that are worth grabbing. These are all the things you can find in Chapter 5:

Destroy all four warships in any order, and then you are clear to proceed to the next objective: Fly to the Heart Chamber. This section will be done without your flying companion.

Clear the Heart Chamber

As the closer of this chapter in DOOM: The Dark Ages, the Slayer must mow down every single demon within the area. You will find a horde of enemies standing between you and the stairwell to the stronghold.

Head up the stairs to the chamber, and a final cutscene will play, wrapping up Chapter 5, The Holy City of Aratum. King Novik will be desperate to protect the Heart of Argent; meanwhile, Prince Ahzrak will be on the offensive for the following chapter.
