The Abyssal Forest in Doom The Dark Ages
The Doomslayer will be dispatched outside the forest and reach the gate on foot. The first objective for this mission is to open the forest gate, but it is quite a distance. Expect to see a handful of enemies along the way, and you can grab some healing items if you are low on health. Collectible items are abundant in Doom The Dark Ages, and you can find a fair few along the way.
This part of the chapter is fairly linear; however, you can take alternative routes. Each path has its fair share of enemies and loot, but leads to the same objective. You will come across a locked cage with a yellow key inside; make sure to grab it to open the gate to the next objective.
Find Path Through Barracks
Enemies beyond this point hit harder and faster. The Doomslayer is powerful but not invincible, so tread carefully and pick up whatever resources you can get. You will come across a Sentinel Shrine, and it is a perfect opportunity to acquire more upgrades to improve your chances of survival. Deep within the forest lies a citadel. You can use your shield to cut the counterweight to gain access.
Follow the objective marker and fight anything standing in your way. Eventually, you will reach the mine entrance, the final objective for this chapter. This chapter ended on a high note, especially with a climactic battle against the Agaddon Champion.
Doomslayer Versus the Agaddon Champion
As you reach the objective marker, the lift will take you down to a lower level where you can spot a weapon cache. You can pick up a grenade launcher, and it is effective against large hordes. You can use this weapon for the battle ahead.
To wrap up this chapter, you must defeat the Agaddon Champion in an open field. Here are some of the best weapons to use during the fight:
- Grenade Launcher
- Impaler
- Super Shotgun
The Agaddon Champion is armed with a shield, and this can be used for bash attacks. Fight smart and less aggressively to defeat this enemy boss and play with your strengths. You can run around the arena to get a better angle. Once the Agaddon Champion is defeated, follow the next objective, marking the end of Doom The Dark Ages Chapter 8.
