How To Complete Battle Against The Yellow Turbans in Dynasty Warriors Origins
Win and Defeat Conditions
Take note of these conditions to know how to complete this mission:
- You win the battle by defeating Zhang Jiao.
- The battle is lost when Zhu Jun or Huangfu Song flees.
This time, you need to take down Zhang Jiao for good. This will be the toughest boss fight in Chapter 1. Make sure you are well-equipped for this fight. Make sure to assist your allies when they need help to keep their morale up.
Battle Against The Yellow Turbans Walkthrough
The Battle Against The Yellow Turbans story mission starts right after the Battle of Guangzong, where Zhang Jiao flees from battle. You will need to do a bit of story progression and talk to NPCs until you can start the final mission for Chapter 1.
Advance Troops While Taking Down Key Targets
You need to defeat key officers in the map to allow your allies to move forward safely. The path is winding, so you need to move a long distance just to get to the main objective. You can encounter most of the targets by heading north and make your way to the middle of the map.
You will meet Zhou Cang once again on the battlefield, and will start raining down arrows on your troops. You need to take him down for the arrow rains to stop. He won’t be fighting alone, as he has a few officers and foot soldiers to help him out.
Zhang Liang is another mini-boss you need to defeat. He can conjure phantom soldiers, which can be very annoying to deal with. Make sure to take him out as soon as possible or risk losing too much morale for your troops.
Deeper into the battlefield, you will encounter Zhang Bao, who commands a huge army. You need to take him down and their troops to advance further. However, he can use Grand Tactic Veild of Mist. You will need to find the censer to break it and reveal him again. Once you take him down, the large gate should be accessible where Zhang Jiao is waiting for the ultimate rematch.
Defeat Zhang Jiao
The first phase of the battle will be a pure 1 vs 1 fight. Keep an eye out for when he starts to glow red. The incoming attack cannot be blocked, so you need to dodge quickly. Otherwise, just stay close to him and interrupt most of his attacks with the Sp. Palm Strike.
The second phase will be more annoying to deal with as enemy troops will be helping him. Zhang Jiao will also start using sorcery like summoning hurricanes and lightning storms. You will need to take down the officers first before going back to fighting the main boss.
Once the battle ends, a cutscene will start. After going through the cutscenes, Chapter 1 will be over, and you will start the next chapter of the story campaign.
