In this walkthrough guide, we will cover the Battle of Xiapi mission from Chapter 4 of Dynasty Warriors Origins.
After completing Chapter 3 with the Wei faction, the Wanderer eventually comes across the Battle of Xiapi mission. Wei and Shu forces combine to take down Lu Bu, a formidable foe. This is one of the most difficult battles in the game, which tests the player’s combat skills and strategic mindset. To unlock this mission, players have to complete the previous missions of the Xiapi storyline.

Battle of Xiapi Walkthrough
Victory and Defeat Conditions
The victory condition of the Battle of Xiapi is to defeat Lu Bu with your companions. The mission will fail if Cao Cao or Liu Bei flees the battleground. So, help the allies and their forces in defeating the enemy reinforcements and officers to ensure your victory in this battle.
Battle Preparations
Players have to fight Lu Bu, one of the hardest bosses in the game, so make sure to equip the best weapons and items. The recommended weapon is the Red Rush Staff or Gnashing Fang. Moreover, if players can get their hands on Crescent Blade, they can go for that too.
As for gems, Wellspring Gem is recommended, as it restores HP every 100 KOs. Use Sash of Peerless Might and Ethereal Tiger’s Fang to boost attack power. As Sash of Peerless Might increases attack if health is above 50%, Wellspring Gem restores health. This combo of accessory and gem eases the fights throughout the mission.

Battle Walkthrough
As the mission starts, players should go to the centre. Defeat enemy officers and secure the centre base to gain momentum on the enemy forces. After that, keep pushing south and engage in the battle with Chen Gong’s force. The access to the castle only unlocks after defeating the enemy forces.
Charge on the castle and fight Lu Bu in a duel showdown. Beware of Lu Bu attacks when he rides his horse, as they are very fast and hit like a truck. Lu Bu has very strong battle arts, so learn the pattern and wait for the right moment to strike.
