In this walkthrough guide of Dynasty Warriors Origins, we will go over the Second Battle of Puyang mission from Chapter 3.
When the Wanderer joins an alliance with the Wei faction and helps Cao Cao in solidifying his power over China. After doing a bunch of missions with Cao Cao, the Second Battle of Puyang mission started. To unlock this mission, complete the Battle of Yu Province mission first. After acquiring Yu Province, we aid Cao Cao in recapturing Puyang and defeating Lu Bu along the way.
In this walkthrough, we are going to guide players to victory in the Second Battle of Puyang mission of Dynasty Warriors Origins.
Second Battle of Puyang Walkthrough
Victory and Defeat Conditions
The winning condition of this mission is very simple: defeat Lu Bu within the Puyang Castle while helping your allies. On the other hand, the mission will fail if either Cao Cao or Guo Jia is forced to flee from the fight. Players should protect their companions and pierce through the enemy forces. Moreover, try to keep Lu Bu within the castle to ensure victory.

Battle Preparations
Dynasty Warriors Origins has various weapons of different types. We recommend using a wide-range weapon like the Red Rush Staff that can be obtained in Chapter 2. If players don’t like using a staff, they can also go for Gnashing Fang, a podao-type weapon. For accessories, any attack-boosting item can help the players in winning. Use Sash of Peerless Might and Ethereal Tiger’s Fang with Wellspring Gem to maximize the damage output.
Battle Walkthrough
As the mission starts, the Wanderer spawns in the centre. The main focus of the players should be capturing the reinforcement points and defeating the enemy officers on the sidelines. Keep Cao Cao and his forces alive and healthy so they don’t flee the battlefield. As the battle continues and players reach the Puyang Castle, they have to fight Lu Bu.
He is one of the hardest bosses in the game, so be careful when fighting him. Defeat Lu Bu within the castle and claim victory to complete the Second Battle of Puyang mission of Dynasty Warriors Origins.
