The Everdark Sovereign Expeditions in Elden Ring Nightreign is getting a new boss in the form of Fissure in the Fog, that too quite soon. The Everdark version of Fissure in the Fog, i.e., Caligo, is coming to the game as the next enhanced Nightlord. With patch 1.02, FromSoftware added a ton of new content to Elden Ring Nightreign, including new Everdark Nightlords.

Following the update, the first Everdark Expedition came in the form of Augur, which turned out to be an incredibly divisive topic among the Elden Ring community. And following Augur, the next boss is going to be Caligo, who is the one boss in the game that needs the Everdark variant the most.

While regular Caligo isn’t a cakewalk, it certainly is easier compared to other Nightlords, especially when contrasted against Gladius, Adel, Fulghor, and Libra. However, that will change with Everdark Caligo, which seems to be significantly more difficult than its base version. Here’s everything you need to know about Enhanced Fissure in the Fog, and its release date in Elden Ring Nightreign.

When Is Enhanced Fissure in the Fog Coming To Elden Ring Nightreign?

The Enhanced Fissure in the Fog, i.e., Caligo, Miasma of the Night, is coming to Elden Ring Nightreign on August 7, 2025, at 3 AM CEST, 8 PM PDT (August 6, 2025). The Everdark Caligo will replace the Enhanced Augur Expedition and will be available for a whole week. As it is part of the Everdark Sovereign, you need to have defeated the regular Fissure in the Fog at least once to access the new boss.

It should be noted that, apart from the new Nightlord, Everdark Sovereigns follow the same progression and structure as regular Expeditions. The only new thing (apart from the boss fight itself) is Dark Miasma of Night Relic.

The Dark Miasma of Night is a new version of Caligo’s Relic with slightly altered perks. As for the boss fight, similar to other Everdark Nightlords, Caligo’s battle is divided into two phases. The first phase of the new boss is identical to regular Caligo’s second phase. However, the second phase of the Everdark variant is where the boss showcases its new attacks and abilities.

What’s New With Enhanced Fissure in the Fog?

Everdark Fissure in the Fog is essentially identical to its regular counterpart in the first phase. However, it has a few new abilities, which it showcases in the latter stages of the boss fight. Much like regular Caligo, the Everdark variant inflicts Frostbite with its wing and tail swipe attacks.

However, in the case of Everdark Caligo, the boss inflicts Frostbite using all its attacks. It also has new AOE combos that are bound to catch players using melee characters off guard. In addition to that, the boss also has a new attack which is reminiscent of Safi’Jiiva from Monster Hunter World.
