Learn how to defeat the Dancer of the Boreal Valley in Elden Ring Nightreign with tips, weaknesses, and strategy breakdowns.

The Dancer of the Boreal Valley is a powerful Night Boss that may appear at the end of the second day in Elden Ring Nightreign. Originally seen in Dark Souls 3, she is a tricky boss to face because of her deceptively long-reaching attacks and sweeping movements. Here’s everything you need to know to survive the encounter and bring her down quickly.
Overview of Dancer of the Boreal Valley in Elden Ring Nightreign

Dancer of the Boreal Valley is a Night 2 Boss encountered during the Fissure In The Fog and Night Aspect expeditions. The boss is challenging for both melee and ranged combatants, as she can quickly close the distance to her target and has two phases. In the first phase, the boss wields a single flaming sword and uses her free hand to lash out with a lightning attack.
In the second phase, the Dancer of the Boreal Valley draws a second sword to unleash a flurry of spinning attacks. Being at a minimum level of 7 with your party is recommended to reduce the punishing nature of the bosses.
Weaknesses of Dancer of the Boreal Valley
The Dancer of the Boreal Valley attacks slowly in her first phase and ramps up aggression as her health decreases. Dealing heavy damage to her head can stagger the boss, leaving her vulnerable to a critical strike. She is slightly resistant to physical, magic, fire, bleed, and lightning attacks. Using Scarlet Rot and madness damage against her is very effective.
Tips To Easily Defeat Dancer of the Boreal Valley
- The boss telegraphs her swings by drawing her sword back before striking. Roll through her swings before counterattacking.
- Do not overcommit while launching a counterattack, as her strikes land quickly, and you may not have time to dodge.
- When the boss is staggered, approach her head and attack to land a critical strike.
- The boss pulls back her empty hand before lunging forward and attempting to grab a player. She will then impale her victim with the sword. The attack deals devastating damage and must be avoided.
- The Dancer of the Boreal Valley will slam her sword into the ground, creating an ash cloud that deals AoE damage. She will then sink the sword deeper, expanding the cloud to a large area around her. Retreat to a safe distance when she begins this move.
Phase 2
- Switch to a defensive playstyle if the boss targets you in this phase. Wait for her combo to finish before counterattacking.
- The deadliest move in her arsenal is the Blade Dance. The boss telegraphs the move by raising both swords high while angling toward her target. She then begins spinning with both blades extended, attacking four times. Dodging all of the swings is very challenging, and it is best to dash or roll away to create distance as soon as you see the attack coming.
- Since most of her sweeping attacks have a large AoE, avoid crowding around her from the same side. Instead, flank her from multiple directions.
- The Dancer of the Boreal Valley can change the direction of her attacks mid-combo, so you may not be safe even if you’re positioned behind her. Watch out for the direction change at the end of an attack.
