Players can complete the Recluse Remembrance in Elden Ring Nightreign to learn more about the mysterious Nightfarer’s memories.
The Recluse is one of the preset characters in Elden Ring Nightreign. If you want to know more about the Nightfarer’s background and her motives for fighting the Nightlords and get important relics along the way, then completing the Recluse Remembrance quests would be the ideal choice. This storyline explores her past, and we follow her and learn about her connection with the Witch of the Wheel.
These missions are not particularly hard to do. But still, some can find them tricky. So, here’s the complete walkthrough of it.
How To Complete Recluse Remembrance Quests in Elden Ring Nightreign
You can start the Recluse Remembrance quest through the Journal. It is a book that holds entries for each Nightfarer containing their memories and lore. Furthermore, you will be able to find it in the Roundtable Hold. However, you will only have one entry for every character in the Journal. Thus, if you want to unlock the Remembrances and memories for the Recluse, you will need to gather memory fragments.
Players can obtain Memory Fragments by completing Expeditions and defeating Nightlords. There are no other methods to obtain the item in the game as of now. Once you get a Memory Fragment, it will automatically unlock the next chapter in the Recluses’ journal entries. These chapters can contain Remembrance quests or simply more lore. Once you have unlocked a Remembrance, you can start it by interacting with the journal. The Recluse has three Remembrance quests.
First Recluse Remembrance
The Recluse’s first Remembrance quest is a simple one. During it, the Iron Menial will express his concern and doubts about the Nightfarer’s commitment to the cause against the Nightlords. However, you can extinguish such remarks by a certain Night-Tainted enemy. Follow the instructions below to do so.
- Speak to the Iron Menial in the Roundtable Hold’s waiting room. He will reveal his doubts and give you a quest to prove yourself.
- Start any expedition as the Recluse and go to Limveld.
- Head towards the red marker on your map.
- Find and kill the Night-Tainted Golden Hippopotamus.
- Obtain the Night Shard from the fallen enemy.
- Return to the Roundtable Hold.
- Speak to the Iron Menial and exhaust all dialogues.
- Complete the Remembrance.
The Night-Tainted Golden Hippo is an above-average enemy when it comes to its size. However, because of it, he is slow and relies on slam attacks. So, simply keep moving and wait for an opening to strike. Repeat this process and defeat the enemy. After that, speaking to the Iron Menial back at the Roundtable Hold will mark the end of this Remembrance. You will get the Recluse Chalice as a reward.
Second Recluse Remembrance
The second Remembrance for the Recluse revolves around the Night Shard you obtained during the previous quest. This mission is quite short, and you won’t have to leave the confines of the Roundtable Hold to complete it. Follow the steps below to clear all objectives of this quest.
- Speak to the Iron Menial near the Small Jar Bazaar. He will give you the Shard of Night and some new information regarding it.
- Head towards the room just beyond the Journal. There you will find strange glowing markings on a bed.
- Interact with it to obtain the Vestige of Night.
- Go back and speak to the Iron Menial again. Exhaust all his dialogue.
- Complete the Remembrance.
Once you speak to the Iron Menial about the strange glowing marks, he will assure you that he aims to look further into the mysterious inscriptions. After that, the Remembrance simply ends. However, you won’t leave empty-handed. As a reward, you will get the Vestige of Night relic. It essentially increases magic attack powers and creates Terra Magica when the Recluse absorbs affinity.
Third Recluse Remembrance
Recluse’s third Remembrance quest involves her friend, the Witch of the Wheel. It is also the last quest in this Nightfarer’s journal. Furthermore, during this mission, you will get to know that the Recluse’s friend, the Witch, is alive and might be hiding in the Roundtable Hold. To complete all objectives during this Remembrance, follow the instructions carefully.
- Go to the training ground to find the Iron Menial. It won’t be the real iteration of the character.
- Kill the Iron Menial. Once he is defeated, it will turn out to be the Witch of the Wheel.
- Speak to the Witch of the Wheel. She will reveal that survival story and tell you where she is keeping the real Iron Menial.
- Head towards the Visual Codex. Once in that room, take the stairs downward and head inside the crypt.
- Interact with the Iron Menial and explain everything.
- Complete the Remembrance.
After talking to the Witch of the Wheel, she will tell you that she locked Iron Menial inside a secret room. Once you retrieve Iron Menial and wake him up, you will complete the last Recluse Remembrance. By doing so, you will get the Bone-Like Stone relic. It will imbue the Recluse’s Ultimate Art with blood loss and increase her attack power, health, and intelligence.
The Recluse’s Ending
Once you have completed all three Recluse Remembrance, you will be able to get a new ending for the Nightfarer. To do that, start the “Night Aspect” expedition. Then, after you defeat the Nightlord, the Recluse will find herself in an alternate version of the Roundtable Hold. Now, head towards the place where you found the Vestige of Night. There, you will find a child resting on a bed. Comfort the Child of Darkness by interacting with it. After that, the storyline ends. Lastly, you can unlock the Recluse Remembrance outfit by going to the same location and speaking to the Witch of the Wheel one last time.
