What Are Firefly Bushes in Minecraft

The Firefly bush is a type of plant in Minecraft used as a decorative item to spice up the look of your gardens or the interiors of your house. This block helps provide your world with a nice glittery atmosphere. They are capable of spawning fireflies, which are particularly visible during the nighttime.
It also acts as a much-needed source of light. While it emits a level 2 source of light, it doesn’t help against enemy mobs. This means that, unlike light sources like torches, which eliminate the shadow and the spawnable area for the enemy mobs in a specific radius, they wouldn’t be able to provide similar support.

Interesting Facts About the Firefly Bush

A fun fact about Fireflies is that they were originally designed to be a mob but were later scrapped. Due to some performance issues and the fact that they were poisonous for frogs, that led to that decision. So the fireflies which spawn around the bush are firefly particles generated by the bush itself, hence giving it the name. If you grow a lot in the same spot and listen closely, you will be able to hear a small buzzing sound.
The Firefly bushes can be found near water in either the Swamp Biome, Mangrove Swamp Biome, or Badlands Biome. They can also be sourced near riverbanks. Firefly bushes can be broken using any item or with your hand itself. Once collected, you can bring it back to your place and plant it. You can also use bone meal to grow another bush in its adjacent spaces.
