The Chronicled Wish banner in Genshin Impact offers players a chance to obtain older event-exclusive characters and weapons.

Chronicled Wish is a new wish banner in Genshin Impact that aims to give players a chance to get older event-exclusive characters and weapons that have not been featured in any events recently. The event is also unique because it offers both 5-star characters and 5-star weapons within the same event. As Chronicled Wish is meant to be a periodically occurring event, the characters featured will change each time. Additionally, the wish uses Intertwined Fates instead of the standard Acquaint Fate.
Chronicled Path
Chronicled Wish will allow you to choose a 5-star character or weapon for its Chronicled Path. If you obtain a 5-star item, there is a 50% probability that it will be the one you chose. If it is not, then you will either get another 5-star character or a 5-star weapon, depending on which type you chose for the Chronicled Path.
Additionally, you will get one Fate Point, which will guarantee that the next time you win a 5-star item, it will be what you set for the path. However, your Fate Point will be forfeited once the event ends.
Wish Probability and Guarantees
Chronicled Wish probabilities:
Item | Base Probability |
---|---|
5★ Character | 0.6% |
4★ Character or Weapon | 5.1% |
3★ Weapon | 94.3% |
The pity system in Chronicled Wish works the same as in other wish banners. Your chances of obtaining a 5-star item increase after 74 unsuccessful wishes. A 4-star item will be guaranteed every 10 wishes, and a 5-star item is guaranteed every 90 wishes (although you will likely get one much sooner).
With the Chronicled Path system, you will have a 50% chance of getting your desired character after you hit the 90-wish guarantee. Therefore, when aiming for a particular 5-star character, you are guaranteed to get it after 180 wishes during the same event.
It is important to note that the pity and Fate Points you have accumulated in other event banners are not applicable to Chronicled Wish and vice versa. Chronicled Wish is a separate wish type from other wishes, meaning its guarantees will not carry over to any wish events besides Chronicled Wish.
This means that if you have made 40 wishes in a Chronicled Wish event without getting a 5-star item and the event ends when the next Chronicled Wish event begins, you will be guaranteed a 5-star item after 50 wishes because of your 40-pity buildup from the previous event. Unfortunately, just as with other event banners, Fate Points will not carry over between Chronicled Wish events.
Is it Worth It?

Chronicled Wish allows the collection of specific characters and weapons no longer featured in banners. With so many characters, not all fan favorites get their time in the spotlight, and once you miss their events, it can be nearly impossible to get them. Thus, the banner can be especially beneficial for newer players, as they can obtain older limited characters even if they lose the 50/50 chance of getting the Chronicled Path character.
All 5-star characters appearing in Chronicled Wish will be event-exclusive. If you choose a character for the Chronicled Path and pull a 5-star, you can only lose the 50/50 to another 5-star character featured in the event. While the inability to carry over Fate Points to the next event is disappointing, Chronicled Wish can be worth the cost for new players as well as those wishing to complete their character and weapon sets.
