Ghost of Yotei: Best Dual Katana Build and Charms

Everything you need to know about the best Dual Katana build in Ghost of Yotei, including the charms, armor set, and more.

Dual Katana is easily the coolest new weapon in Ghost of Yotei. While the regular two-handed Katana gets the job done, it’s nowhere near as fast or efficient as the Dual Katanas, especially when you’re faced against enemies wielding Yari. The Dual Katanas excel at landing fast hits while also leaving enough room for counterattacks and parries. That said, the Dual Katans do have a rather lengthy charged attack animation.

Thankfully, you can offset the Dual Katana’s shortcomings with charms. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Dual Katana build in Ghost of Yotei, including details on the armor set, charms, skills, and more.

For the Dual Katana build, we’re essentially focusing on the weapon’s counterattack skills. While the Dual Katanas have a rather powerful light attack chain, it doesn’t provide enough poise like other weapons. As such, you can easily get staggered out of your regular attacks, even by regular enemies. You can try to offset this with the charged combo. However, the charged attacks also have a long wind-up animation.

That said, you can easily overcome all the shortcomings of the weapon using its Tempest Strike skill. Furthermore, pairing the Dual Katanas with the Bounty Master set, you can essentially become a Ronin with exceptional parrying skills. Here’s a breakdown of the Dual Katana build.

The Bounty Master armro set unlocks as part of an optional quest (Bounty) – Soma the Condemned. To unlock this quest, you need to complete all the Bounties in Yotei Grasslands and talk to Kojiro. The start of the quest is a bit tricky as Soma is sheltered behind a locked door, which cannot be opened using brute force. Instead, you need to use your Shamisen to unlock the door and reach Soma.

After you defeat Soma in a duel, you will obtain the Bounty Master armor set. The set essentially disables your regular parries. However, at the same time, it increases the timing window of perfect parries. Furthermore, it also adds up to 3 counterattack moves following a parry. It’s a high-risk, high-reward armor set. However, it works really well with the Dual Katana playstyle.
