In this guide, we shall walk you through The Path of the Yari quest in Ghost of Yotei and help you find the weaponsmith Takahashi seeks.
The Yotei Six has been terrorizing the land of Ezo in Ghost of Yotei, and the game’s Path of the Yari quest sees you mount up a resistance by recruiting people for your cause. Any good fight needs powerful weapons, and Takahashi knows of a weaponsmith who can help. Unfortunately, this weaponsmith is a prisoner of the Oni, and you have to help rescue him in this quest.
Path of the Yari quest makes you liberate two enemy camps, and it can seem like a daunting challenge if you don’t know what you’re doing. This guide will walk you through the entire quest from start to finish.
How To Begin Path of the Yari in Ghost of Yotei
You begin the Path of the Yari quest by liberating Higashi Lumberyard in Ishikari Plain. This lumberyard is east of Horokanai Bluffs. Head to this area and you’ll discover that it is a Saito Outlaw compound. Infiltrate this area and kill all the outlaws to liberate it. Since there are a lot of enemies, we advise using stealth.
Enter from the right side of the main gate, and you’ll discover plenty of foliage to sneak through. Use this to thin out the enemy numbers, and you can then initiate a standoff to finish the rest. Kill all the enemies to clear the compound.
Once you do that, you’ll have a short cutscene where you’ll speak to students of Sensei Takahashi. You’ll then send them back to the dojo, and you will then have to acquire a Yari technique from the nearby shrine to kick off the Path of the Yari quest.

How To Complete Path of the Yari in Ghost of Yotei

Once you’ve learnt the Yari Skill and rescued the students, the real work begins. Sensei Takahashi’s dojo needs a weaponsmith for spearheads. The sensei does know of one weaponsmith perfect for the job, but he’s locked up in the Bold Kaji Forge.
Head to the Bold Kaji Forge and clear out the enemy camp. There are a ton of enemies here, but there are plenty of opportunities for stealth. We suggest using the grass to hide and sneak around camp. The enemies are all evenly dispersed, so you can pick them all off with ease. Clear the camp and make your way to the forge. This is the huge flame at the very center of the camp. You’ll find a prisoner right in front of the fire, and this is who we’re looking for.
Rescue the prisoner, and he’ll reveal that the raiders took over his home. He’ll come with you if you help him get his home back. Follow the prisoner and kill all the raiders along the way. Liberate Bold Kaji Forge with him to complete this objective. The prisoner will reveal that he was friends with Kengo and will eagerly join your fight against the raiders. This will conclude the quest.
