The merchant Goemon’s merchandise has gone missing, and Ghost of Yotei’s The Enemy Within quest sends you in search of it.
Ghost of Yotei’s The Enemy Within quest shows you the direct impact war has had on the economy. Merchants are struggling to stay green, but one Goemon seems to have found something that helps him stay afloat.
Unfortunately, for Goemon, his shipment is now missing, hurting his wallet. The merchant needs your help finding this missing shipment, and there seems to be deception at play here. The Enemy Within is an intriguing quest through and through, and this guide will walk you through it.
How To Begin The Enemy Within in Ghost of Yotei
You begin The Enemy Within quest by talking to Goemon in the Kamigawa Trading Post, north of Sakuru Woods. As you walk by Goemon’s shop in the trading post, he’ll call out to you, stating that he has work. Talk to him and he’ll reveal that his merchandise shipment was due three days ago. The lack of merchandise his hurting his income, and he desperately needs help finding the lost merchandise. Select the “Accept Job” option to accept his request and begin the quest.

How To Complete The Enemy Within in Ghost of Yotei

Once you agree to find the lost shipment, he’ll ask you to check out the northwest passage, which is right next to the Teshio River. This is northwest of where you stand, but it is also marked on your map, should you need help. Head to the objective marker and you’ll find a heap of corpses. Clearly, Goemon’s shipment was attacked.
Examine the scene and follow the trail of the missing supplies. As you go about doing so, arrows will rain down on you from above. Shoot the archers atop the nearby trees and collect the shipment by the rock.
Take the shipment back to Goemon, and you’ll find him missing. You’ll hear cries for help from the building nearby. Kill the guard by the gate, and then fend off the subsequent ambush to free Goemon. He’ll then reveal that the other merchants were Nine Tails looking to eat into his business. This revelation will then bring the quest to an end.
