How To Begin The Odachi’s Redemption in Ghost of Yotei

You begin The Odachi’s Redemption quest by talking to Master Yoshida in his dojo. He’ll be standing by the dojo gate. Walk up to him and press R2 to talk. Master Yoshida will then commend you for your fight against the Yotei Six, displaying a bit of pride in how much fear you strike in them. The master will then declare that you have more than earned your next lesson, kicking off this quest.

Once the conversation with Master Yoshida wraps up, follow him to his dojo. He will then take you to a set of scrolls that have been used to pass down techniques from master to master. Walk up to the first scroll and press R2 to study it. Then, walk up to the scroll in the middle and do the same, and do the same again for the last scroll on the left. Together, these three scrolls speak of a powerful Odachi technique.

Master Yoshida, noticing your clear disinterest in studying, then offers to spar with you. Follow the master to the training ground and pull your Odachi out by holding R2 and pressing L2. Once you wield the weapon, the spar will begin, and you’ll get to use your new Mountain Breaker technique. Press Triangle + Circle to use the Mountain Breaker.

Use the technique three times, and Master Yoshida will yield, calling for a sake break. Build a campfire and have a drink with Master Yoshida. Your break will be cut short by a large screeching noise. Stand up and use your spyglass to investigate. You’ll then see a bunch of Saito men far to the north. Before you can react, they’ll launch mortars right at you, forcing you to flee.

Ride on your horse and follow Master Yoshida to the source of all trouble. With the master and his students by your side, fight against the Saito Outlaws. Kill all the outlaws to complete the quest.
