Queen Lumia in Hades 2 is a mini-boss that you might face as you progress through the game’s regions. You need to understand Queen Lamia’s attack patterns and weaknesses if you’re hoping to come out on top here. So, without further ado, here’s a complete guide on the mini-boss, including where you can find her, her movesets, and useful strategies to employ.

You will find Queen Lamia in the Fields of Mourning zone. This is the third zone in Hades 2, which you’ll reach after defeating the bosses in the two earlier zones. So, you’ll have fought and overcome Headmistress Hecate boss in Erebus and Scylla and the Sirens boss in Oceanus before you can get to this point.

The Fields of Mourning zone presents a much heftier challenge compared to the earlier two zones, with every encounter lasting much longer. You’ll have to get through many more enemies during each encounter here. However, because of that, you can also earn significant rewards.

Queen Lamia Moveset

Queen Lamia has the following attack types that you must know of:

Attack TypesWhat It Does
Vertical lasersQueen Lamia will cast three vertical lasers that’ll follow and damage Melinoe if you don’t avoid them. The cast remains active as long as the boss wants.
Ground slamIf you get too close to the enemy, she’ll slam her staff on the ground to deal AoE damage.
Lamia companion attacksFour Lamia minions will spawn in the boss arena, and they’ll each cast one vertical laser that’ll follow you around. You will have to take out their armor before your strikes can interrupt their laser casts.
Orb projectileQueen Lamia also unleashes a red orb projectile toward Melinoe. The orb will burst if it strikes her. Or, it will eventually transform into a slime, which slows Melinoe down if it strikes her.

Here are some strategies you can follow to make this encounter easier:

  • Make sure you take care of the four Lamia that spawn in the arena first. Since they’ll each cast a vertical laser, eliminating them can make it easier to focus on Queen Lamia. However, you’ll have to deplete each of their armor first if you want to interrupt their laser casts. Until the armor is down, simply strike once and then sprint away from their lasers. Repeat this until all four of the Lamia are down. Use ranged weapons to attack these minions, as they’re on a platform that you may have trouble reaching with melee attacks.

  • Queen Lamia conjures three lasers at once. You can circle around the boss to avoid them or simply run away.

  • Do not get too close to Queen Lamia, as she will unleash the ground slam attack that’ll damage Melinoe. Instead, rely on ranged weaponry to quickly strike her from afar and then get out of her lasers or orb projectiles.

  • Keep in mind that Queen Lamia has a significant amount of armor, and you won’t be able to interrupt her attacks without first draining this protection.

  • Once her armor is gone, your attacks will interrupt her casts. Also, her health pool is quite limited compared to her armor bar. So, the fight shouldn’t last too long after you’ve dealt with her armor protection.

  • When it comes to Boons, we suggest using either Hestia’s or Demeter’s Boons, as they’ll enable you to deal more damage to her. Demeter’s Boons, for instance, will freeze her and give you more time to strike the enemy without consequence.
