Halo Infinite has received a sudden (and big) update for this summer, in May 2025. Here is everything to know about this new update.
Halo Studios has launched a fresh update for Halo Infinite, adding a bunch of new game modes and weapons for players to try out. This is a pretty major update, given its size, and various items and game modes being added.
As of this moment, the update is already live, so you can dive right in to take a look and enjoy the brand new features which have been added.

Various items and game modes are being added to the game. This also includes a rotational playlist, which will only be available for a limited time. The Weapon Bench will also be expanded.
Mutilator and Mutilator Madness
A brand new weapon called the Mutilator will be added to Halo Infinite. This double-barreled shotgun also has a Gravity Hammer for Melee attacks. Moreover, to celebrate the addition of this weapon, a new playlist called ‘Mutilator Madness’ will be available.
During this game mode, eight players will battle it out to become the Juggernaut and wield this weapon. Players can become the Juggernaut if they slay the current Juggernaut. Moreover, the longer you remain a Juggernaut, the more points you will gain.
Playlist: Battle of the Academy
You must defend your allies and commit acts of sabotage in this new playlist. Four players will defend and escape against the Banished forces. This mode follows the story of the UNSC forces, which defended the Avery J. Johnson Academy for Military Science.
New Operation Pass: Last Stand
This update features a 50-tier Premium Pass reward track and various Shop bundles. The Premium Pass users will have access to all 50 tiers of rewards, along with the free rewards in the first 20 tiers of the Operation Pass.
If you buy the Premium Pass within the five week time period, it will remain available to you even after the period is over.
Halo Infinite Summer Update Download Size
The download size varies based on the platform you will play on.
- Xbox consoles: 6.6 GB or less
- Microsoft Store app or Xbox app on PC: 6.2 GB or less
- Steam: 2.5 GB or less
