Ideally, you may want to claim land in areas that provide access to a variety of important resources like scrap metal or ore deposits. This way, each base functions as a forward outpost near crucial farming spots, making it easier to store and transport valuable resources efficiently.

As you continue to make progress, you will gain access to the advanced fief. This expands your base, allowing you to build bigger structures.
