For most of Dune Awakening, you’ll rely solely on your base in the Hagga Basin region. This is the primary PvE section of the game’s map, and it’ll get you through up until you reach the Duraluminum tier. However, if you want to progress further and reach the Plastanium tier, you’ll need to reach the Deep Desert to acquire resources, such as Spice Sand and Titanium.
So, you might want to build a separate base in the Deep Desert region. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can build a Deep Desert base in Dune Awakening and the dangers it might pose.
Understanding Where To Build Your Deep Desert Base in Dune Awakening
Unlike the Hagga Basin, the Deep Desert isn’t mostly PvE. At launch, the region was 90% PvP and just 10% PvE. However, since then, Funcom has implemented an update that has increased the PvE share of the Deep Desert map. Now, the map is split equally between PvE and PvP. We suggest always building your base in the Deep Desert’s PvE section. This will keep it safe from hostile players during sandstorms. Try to find a spot with a good vantage point over the surrounding areas. Next, simply place a Sub-Fief on the spot to claim it as your own.
Another danger of creating your base in the Deep Desert is the weekly Coriolis Storms. Every week, these storms will wipe away your base and everything in it. So, you’ll need to manually move all of the resources back to your Hagga Basin base before the storm hits. Otherwise, you’ll lose all of the resources that you gathered from the region.

How To Build Your Deep Desert Base in Dune Awakening
You will need exactly half the amount of resources to build your base in the Deep Desert region when compared to the Hagga Basin. We suggest using an Assault Ornithopter to move resources to and from the Deep Desert base. This vehicle has a 1000V limit, which means it can carry double the load when compared to a Scout Ornithopter.
