Dune Awakening throws you into Arrakis solo or with a group of friends. Even while playing alone, sometimes you might run into other players. Additionally, there’s a rudimentary way to interact with these players through emotes.

While lengthy conversations are not possible in this way, you can wave at them or use a more sinister emote to announce your not-so-noble intentions. However, you have to understand the process of changing emotes in Dune Awakening if you want to use them effectively. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can do this.

The game allows you to change the emotes you have equipped whenever you want. To do this, first open your Inventory menu. Then, press A or D until you reach the Emotes section. On this screen, press C to move an emote to the loadout portion from within the emote page. You can also do this by dragging the emote you want to replace from its slot and then dragging in the desired emote.

Moreover, keep in mind that the game has various unique emotes that you’ll unlock based on certain decisions during character creation. More specifically, the choice of your character’s Homeworld determines the unique emotes. The following are the unique emotes associated with different Homeworlds.

After equipping your preferred emotes, you can then use them freely whenever you want. To do that, click and hold down the middle mouse button and right-click. This will open the Emote wheel. Now, while holding down the middle mouse button, move the cursor over the emote you want to use and release the button. If that sounds a bit too tricky, you can do the entire thing by holding down the Tab button instead of the middle mouse button.
