Baldur’s Gate 3 features many side quests that players can tackle on their journey. Among these is Avenge the Hag Survivors, a side quest that tasks you with finding and eliminating a hag residing in the Lower City. Before starting this quest, however, you will have to start and complete the Help the Hag Survivors quest.

How to Complete the Avenge the Hag Survivors Quest in Baldur’s Gate 3
Before you head into the Lower City to tackle the hag, use the ingredients and recipe in a safe at Old Garlow’s Place to make Hag’s Bane, a resource that compels hags to regurgitate abducted kids. The Avenge the Hag Survivors quest also ties into the Save Vanra quest since Vanra is the child that has been abducted by the hag.
Find Captain Grizly at the Blushing Mermaid
After you have acquired Hag’s Bane, make your way to the Blushing Mermaid to the north of the Counting House. Here, you need to go upstairs and talk to Captain Grizly. She can be found pacing alone inside a room. Captain Grizly will then express how Lora never actually had a child. After this revelation, she will offer you a reward for taking Lora out. However, if you refuse this deal, Captain Grizly will transform into Auntie Ethel, the hag that you are pursuing.
While this will be your first encounter with the hag, you will not get to attack her at this moment. This is because she will disappear and leave behind her minions for you to battle. You need to eliminate these minions and loot Two-Toes Rischer. You can then head down the stairs into Captain Grizly’s room where you can rescue Vanra. After reaching the cellar, you need to climb up to the platform in the room and walk through the illusory wall.
Then go down the ladder and lockpick the door. The room will include a few more of the hag’s minions that you need to take out. After this, you need to walk through the marked door where you will find Ethel.
Fighting Auntie Ethel
When battling the hag, you will have to use the previously acquired Hag’s Bane potion. Command one of your party members to hurl the potion at Ethel. This will compel her to release Vanra. Other than this, you also need to destroy three Pearlspore Bells in the arena. If you don’t destroy them, the hag will revive herself at the end of the battle.
Once you have defeated Auntie Ethel, you can head back to Old Garlow’s Place. Here, you can reveal that the hag is now gone. This will allow you to earn the Fey Semblance Amulet in Baldur’s Gate 3.
