The Fire and Ice quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard sees you hunting a blighted dragon and quickly turns into a showdown with two dragons.

Fire and Ice is a story mission in Dragon Age: The Veilguard that sees Rook and team lick their wounds and get back up to go after the blighted dragon that slipped past them earlier in the story. The first encounter was hard, and the team acknowledges that they did their best but it wasn’t enough. Looking for revenge, the team sets out on the hunt, but what lies waiting is not one, but two dragons. The Fire and Ice quest is one of the hardest quests in the game due to these two dragons, who pose a near insurmountable hurdle to players.
In this guide, we shall go over the Fire and Ice quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard and how to complete it.
Defeat the Two Dragons in Fire and Ice
Rook and party set out to hunt the dragon. The dragon can either be Corius the Icetalon or Seartooth Vyrantus, whichever you faced in the original encounter. You meet Corius if you picked to save Treviso, and Seartooth Vyrantus if you picked Minrathous. You will fight one of these two dragons in the first phase of the fight. Once you defeat the first dragon, Phase 2 kicks off, and the second dragon joins the fray.

Defeat Corius the Icetalon
If facing Corius The Icetalon in Phase 1, you want to exploit his weakness to fire. Taash brings the perfect set of abilities for this fight, so use him to your advantage. Familiarize yourself with the arena and stay on the move to avoid the dragon’s ice projectile attacks. The dragon cues these attacks by purple glows, so keep your eyes peeled on the enemy. We recommend circling around the dragon’s feet to deal damage.

Defeat Seartooth Vyrantus
Seartooth Vyrantus plays out in the same way as Corius the Icetalon, with the only difference being that the dragon uses fire in place of ice. Circle around the dragon to deal damage and dodge projectiles. Stagger the dragon and use your Ultimate to finish the job and clinch victory.

Phase 2
Once the first dragon is defeated, the second dragon comes soaring in from the sky and makes a grand entrance into the arena. The first dragon’s HP will replenish, and Phase 2 will kick off with two dragons for you to slay.
We recommend picking one dragon and sticking to it while dodging the attacks of the other. Corius is an easy target due to its weakness to Taash’s attacks. Stick close to the feet of the dragon and chip away at its HP.
Once you get it to the halfway point, the Antivan Crows or Shadow Dragons will arrive to your aid and deal damage to the dragons in the arena, leveling the playing field. Continue forth with your strategy and beat the dragons to end the quest.
