Completing the Helsik Ritual in Baldur’s Gate 3 opens up an interdimensional portal to the House of Hope in Avernus.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has several quests and NPCs that lead you to new locations or dungeons. The House of Hope, in particular, is a location you hear about often throughout the game. However, you only get to visit it once you step inside Baldur’s Gate. The House of Hope, home to Raphael, is wrapped in mystery and mystique but is a tough place to get into. While the Helsik Ritual is one way to break into this hellish, the steps to complete the ritual might seem convoluted at first glance.
In this guide, we shall go over the Helsik Ritual required for making your way to the House of Hope, as well as the items you will need to complete it.
Talk to Helsik at Devil’s Fee
The first thing you need to do to make it to the House of Hope is talk to Helsik. Helsik is an unassuming Gold Dwarf Warlock who owns and works at the Devil’s Fee in Baldur’s Gate. A trader at a glance, she understands the secrets of hell and knows how to open portals leading to it. Your task is to get this information out of her.
Persuade the Gold Dwarf Warlock a little, and she will reveal that it is her job to let people into hell. She does so, of course, for a fee. Bring up Raphael and she will demand a fee for information. Pay her 100 and she will reveal that the House of Hope lies in Avernus and she can get you there for a fee of 20,000.
At this point, you can pick from any of the following options:
- Pay her 20,000 Gold to access the House of Hope.
- [INTIMIDATION] – Threaten her into cutting the fee by half.
- [PERSUASION] – Offer her one of Raphael’s items and persuade her to waive the fee. She will ask for the Gauntlets of Hill Giant Strength from the House of Hope.
You can choose any of the options mentioned above. You will have to pass skill checks to intimidate or persuade her. Once done, she will share a grimoire detailing the necessary components for the ritual, alongside a key for the ritual room upstairs. The grimoire contains precise instructions for the ritual.
How to Complete the Helsik Ritual
Head upstairs to the ritual room and you will find a blood circle drawn on the floor. Helsik’s grimoire, ‘Opening a Hell Gate’, reveals the steps you need to follow to open the portal. You have to place five items on the designated points on the blood circle.
- The Skull goes at the top on the pointy end of the blood circle.
- The Coin of Mammon goes to the very next circle in the clockwise direction.
- Skip the next circle and place the Diamond on the one right after it.
- The Incense goes in the circle right after the Diamond.
- Place the Infernal Marble at the center of the blood circle.
Finishing these steps will complete the ritual and open a portal to the House of Hope.
