The Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s Only An Echo quest requires players to collect the four missing notes of a family and seal a well.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the latest release from the popular action RPG franchise Dragon Age, has received a lot of praise since its launch on October 31, 2024. The quest system includes main story quests, companion quests, and region quests.
Each works differently, with the region-specific quests being the game’s side quests. Only An Echo is one of the region quests in Hossberg Wetlands, and its primary goal is to investigate the disappearance of a family by finding their missing notes and reporting to the villager Ida.
Let’s find out the location of all four missing family notes in the Only An Echo quest.

Where To Find the Missing Family Notes in Only An Echo Quest
The Only An Echo quest takes you to the Flooded Farmlands, where you need to find four missing notes (marked on the map) and seal a well. During the quest, you need to destroy some Blight Boils and defeat some Darkspawn. Once they are taken care of, the quest will be done in matter of minutes.
The following are the objectives of the Only An Echo quest:
- Investigate the missing family’s home
- Find notes from missing family (4)
Missing Family Notes Location: Only An Echo Quest
- Head to the family’s house in the Flooded Farmlands, where the Blight Boils block the entrance. You need to defeat a total of three Blight Boils one after the other. Clearing a Blight Boil leaves a track, and you have to follow it to find the succeeding Blight Boils. Take them out to gain access to the house. Once your way is clear, enter the house and obtain the Family Note (first note).
- Reach the house’s basement and clear the next trio of Blight Boils following the same strategy as above. Clearing the area reveals a wooden beam, which leads to another room. There will be a ladder here. Use it to go upstairs and obtain Emilia Voss’ Diary (second note).
- The third note is located near a well on the southeast of the Flooded Farmlands’ main area, surrounded by a few Darkspawn. Defeat them and collect Ursa Voss’ Journal (third note).
- Then, head to the marshy land near the Flooded Farmlands. You can find Rupert Voss’ Field Checks (fourth note) in the center area with a garden patch.
Collecting all four notes updates the quest task. You will have to seal the well. Upon reaching the well, a cutscene will play, and the well will then be sealed. Head to Lavendel and meet Ida to end the Only An Echo quest. You will receive some XP, Gold, and Materials as rewards upon completion.
