The Regrets of the Dreadwolf quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard expands upon Solas’ motivations and can also influence the game’s ending.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is full of side quests that expand upon the world of Thedas and add further context to the game’s main story. The Regrets of the Dreadwolf is, perhaps, the most important side quest in the game in this regard. The side quest expands upon the story and motivations of Solas as well as the ancient elves. The quest has a heavy influence on the story, even determining the ending you get.

How To Start Regrets of the Dreadwolf
The Regrets of the Dreadwolf requires you to find six ancient wolf statuettes scattered across Thedas. After you find your first statuette, the quest is automatically added to your log. You will find the first statuette by simply playing through the main story. Take note that the statuettes can be found in any order.

| #1 | Complete the ‘Disrupt and Conquer’ quest in the crossroads to obtain the statue. |
| #2 | In ‘The Labs Below’ quest, you can find the statue at the very end after Solas’ memory fades away, right in front of the staircase heading south. |
| #3 | This statuette can be found after defeating Quyn the Sparkweilder in the ‘Gate of the Lost Ages’ quest. Take the boss’ essence back to the Crossroads and use it to unlock the gate. Enter the new area and head south until you reach a golden ladder. Climb up the ladder to reach the courtyard with the red crystals. The statuette is at the northernmost end of this new area. Destroy all the red crystals in the area to access the statuette. |
| #4 | This can be found during the ‘Wolf’s Call’ quest. Complete Solas’ memory and the statuette will spawn in front of you. |
| #5 | Complete the ‘Disrupt and Conquer’ quest at the crossroads to obtain the statue. |
| #6 | This can be discovered during the ‘Shades of Blight’ quest in Act 1. Talk to the Inquisitor to receive the statuette. |
Meet Morrigan at the Crossroads
Take the six statuettes back to the Library in the Lighthouse and place them on the altar to view Solas’ memories. After this, head to Beacon Island to meet Morrigan. Morrigan will reveal a new path to the Nest of the Ancients and towards Mythal herself. You can either convince or fight Mythal to complete the Regrets of the Dreadwolf quest.
