The Something Wicked quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard sends Rook and crew to defend the village of Lavendel.
The Darkspawn are a staple of the Dragon Age series, dwelling in the underground and murdering indiscriminately. These forces of evil are soulless, with darkness bleeding from their eyes, adding to their grotesque appearance. The ‘Something Wicked’ side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard brings you face to face with these monstrosities and forces you to overcome your primal fear of evil itself.
In this guide, we shall discuss the Something Wicked side quest in Dragon Age: The Vielguard and how to complete it.
How To Start Something Wicked
You begin the quest by checking in with the Wardens in the Grey Hold. Spawn at the Grey Hold beacon and head south to meet Evka and Antoine. The duo informs you of a horde of Darkspawn headed towards Lavendel and requests you for help. Evka commands you to check in with the sentries at the village and make sure they stand ready. Interact with the sentries to kick off the quest.
How To Complete Something Wicked
The sentries are located south of where you met Evka and Antoine in Lavendel. Talk to the three sentries and report back to Evka near the village gates. The battle horns will then sound off, signaling the beginning of the Darkspawn attack.
The first wave of these monsters will spawn at the western end of the village at the Sheltered Glade. There will be smaller fodder, as well as larger Alpha Hurlocks in the arena. These large monsters are resistant to Necrotic damage but are vulnerable to fire, so we recommend using that to your advantage. These creatures also hit ridiculously hard, so stay on the move and avoid their attacks at all costs.
Once you clear the area, the Darkspawn will spawn near the other gates and the farmland. Check in with the Wardens at the gate, and help them to fend off the Darkspawn assault. The creatures will spawn near you and target the Warden archers at the gates. Protect the archers and slay the Alpha Hurlocks while they have their backs turned towards you. The other creatures will then turn their attention to you. Exploit their weakness to fire to bring their assault to a close. A cutscene will then play, and you will complete the quest.
