Minecraft has many ways to provide buffs to players, such as potions, enchantments, and beacons. However, one of the types of beacon-like structures that is highly underused is a Conduit. The Conduit acts as a beacon when built with a structure, which provides players with the Conduit Power buff when in contact with water. Conduit Power provides Water Breathing, Night Vision, and Haste.
But how do you even get a Conduit? To help you out, here’s a simple guide on how to craft a Conduit in Minecraft.
Items Required To Craft a Conduit in Minecraft
Here are all the items you require to craft a Conduit in Minecraft:
- 8x Nautilus Shell
- 1x Heart of the Sea
And here’s how you obtain the items required to craft a Conduit:
- Nautilus Shell: You can obtain Nautilus Shells mainly by fishing for them. There is also a rare chance for a drowned to spawn holding a Nautilus Shell, which it drops on death. Lastly, you can buy Nautilus Shell from Wandering Traders, however, it is completely based on luck, as the Wandering Traders have randomized inventory.
- Heart of the Sea: You primarily get Heart of the Sea from looting buried chests that you find from treasure maps. Additionally, befriending dolphins can sometimes earn you a Heart of the Sea.
These are all the items you need to craft a Conduit in Minecraft.

Crafting a Conduit in Minecraft
Once you gather all the items, follow the steps below to craft a Conduit in Minecraft:
- Open your crafting table to gain access to the crafting station.
- Use the 3×3 grid to place blocks in them. Put the Heart of the Sea in the middle of the grid and surround it with Nautilus Shells.
- If placed correctly, the Conduit then appears in the adjacent box.
- Click on the Conduit to finalize the crafting and drag it to your inventory.
With a Conduit now crafted, you can use it to make your own sea-beacon in Minecraft.
