Craft a Fletching Table in Minecraft to assign fletcher jobs to villagers and unlock trades relating to arrows, bows, and emeralds.

While travelling the plains and deserts of Minecraft, there is a good chance to come across villages watched over by an Iron Golem. You can trade with the villagers using emeralds, and the items they deal in vary based on the villagers’ professions. While butchers trade in meat and clerics have magical items, fletchers offer goods relating to bows and crossbows. An unemployed villager can become a fletcher by claiming a Fletching Table. The player cannot use the Fletching Table directly, but they can craft it to convert an unemployed villager into a Fletcher.
Fletching Table Crafting Ingredients
To craft a Fletching Table, you will need 4 wood planks of any variety and 2 flint. Players can collect wood planks by chopping down trees and crafting the logs into planks. They primarily find flint by mining gravel, preferably using a shovel to speed up the process. There is a 10% chance for gravel to drop flint when mined.

Once you have the required items, head over to a crafting table. Place the four wood slabs in a square formation on the crafting grid with the two flints on top. Once they are placed correctly, the table will appear on the output slot on the right. Take the table and put it near a villager by right-clicking (use button).
The unemployed villager will claim the table and transform into a Fletcher villager, sporting a hat with a feather. Only one villager can claim a Fletching Table at a time. If the Fletcher villager dies, the Fletching Table is free to be claimed by another.
Fletcher Villager Trades

The Fletcher villager is a valuable trader as it offers emeralds in exchange for inexpensive items, and trades rare and enchanted items for emeralds at higher levels. Like all villagers, fletchers level up from Novice to Master as you keep trading with them. Each trade has a set limit and is disabled until the villager restocks. Here are the best trades you can expect from a fletcher villager at every level:
Level | Wanted Item | Offered Item |
---|---|---|
Novice | 32 Sticks | 1 Emerald |
Novice | 1 Emerald | 16 Arrows |
Apprentice | 26 Flint | 1 Emerald |
Expert | 24 Feathers | 1 Emerald |
Expert | 7–21 Emerald | 1 Enchanted Bow |
Expert | 8-22 Emerald | 1 Enchanted Crossbow |
Expert | 8 Tripwire Hooks | 1 Emerald |
Master | 2 Emerald + 5 Arrows | 5 Arrows with any potion effect |
