The mace is a type of weapon that was introduced to Minecraft 1.21, as a part of its Tricky Trials update. Unlike swords and axes, which you are required to swing most of the time, maces deal damage based on how long you jump while using them. However, the crafting recipe for this weapon, although simple, is difficult at the same time due to the rarity of the materials.

Items Required To Craft a Mace in Minecraft
Here are all the items that you require to craft a mace in Minecraft:
- 1x Heavy Core
- 1x Breeze Rod
And here’s how you obtain these items:
- Heavy Core: Ominous vaults have a 7.5% chance to drop a heavy core. Moreover, the ominous vaults are the common types of vaults in the Trial Chambers. These are underground structures that you can find in the Overworld. Additionally, you need an ominous key to enter an ominous vault. For that, you have to kill a mob in the Trial Chambers with the Bad Omen effect.
- Breeze Rod: Breeze rod is a type of item that is dropped by Breezes. Breezes are the counterpart of Blazes that are found in the Nether. However, Breezes only spawn in Trial Chambers, which are in the Overworld.
With these items, you can proceed with the crafting of a mace in Minecraft.

Crafting a Mace in Minecraft
Once you have all the items in your inventory, follow the steps given below:
- Click on a Crafting Table and open the 3×3 grid.
- Place the Breeze Rod in the middle of the grid.
- Place the Heavy Core on top of the Breed Rod.
- The mace should appear in the adjacent box. Click and drag it to your inventory to finalize the crafting.
Now that you have crafted a mace in Minecraft, you can use it and bash your enemies.
