How To Craft a Shield in Minecraft
Like every other significant item, you can craft the shield in Minecraft using the crafting table. If you’re unfamiliar, the crafting table can be made through your inventory, which requires a 2×2 setup of wood planks.
Once it is made, you will need one iron ingot and six wood planks. Put the wood planks in a Y shape inside the slots available in the table, and put the iron ingot in the top middle area. After the shield appears in the output box, you can drag it and keep it inside your inventory. To dual wield the shield, equip it in your main inventory slots and press F.
With it, you will be completely indestructible. If a creeper silently walks up behind you, swiftly right-click and look at it so the shield absorbs all the shockwaves.
How To Get the Items for the Shield
Iron is attainable through the iron ore that is available in the mines. Go into the deeper area of a cave to find it more frequently. After you have it, you can return to your base and put it in a furnace to smelt the iron ingots.
For the wood planks, you can simply break down trees with any type of material you have in your hands. Still, using an axe to cut them down is far more efficient than any other item.
