Do you wish to walk under the sun again? Here’s how you can do it by curing vampirism in Oblivion Remastered.
In Oblivion Remastered, you can play as one of the many races that reside in Cyrodiil. Moreover, all races have unique attributes and skills that are exclusive to them. However, one of the races that you cannot start as is the vampires. Vampires are creatures of the night that you can turn into by catching a disease or completing a long mission.
Vampires are a powerful race, but there are also major downsides to becoming one. In this guide, we have explained how you can cure vampirism in Oblivion Remastered.

Curing Vampirism in Oblivion Remastered
To become a vampire, you first have to contract a disease named Porphyric Hemophilia. You can get this by getting attacked by another vampire or completing quests in the Dark Brotherhood questline. After you contract the disease, there is a 72-hour or three in-game-day waiting period before you fully turn into a vampire.
If you do not wish to turn into a vampire, there are multiple ways through which you can stop the vampirism process. All of these methods are quite easy due to Porphyric Hemophilia being a normal disease. Here are all of them:
- Drink a Cure Disease potion.
- Cast a Cure Disease spell on yourself.
- Pray at a Shrine, Chapel, or Wayshrine.
- Eat either a Shepherd’s Pie or a Mandrake Root.
All these methods cure diseases, so you can stop the vampirism process when it starts. However, they won’t help after you have turned into a vampire. For that, you have to complete the Cure Vampire quest, which is quite a long one.
Cure Vampirism Potion Recipe
After you complete the Cure Vampire quest, you get the Cure Vampirism potion recipe. Unfortunately, you can only collect the ingredients and give them to Melisande so she can make it herself. Here are all the ingredients you have to collect:
- 2x Bloodgrass
- 6x Garlic
- 5x Nightshade
- Blood of an Argonian
- Ashes of a Vampire
These are everything you have to collect for the quest. However, you cannot turn into a vampire again if you cure yourself using the potion.
