EA Sports has just released a new Icon SBC in EAFC 25 that’s got Ultimate Team players buzzing. The 87+ Base or Centurions Icon Upgrade SBC lets you try your luck at getting some of the best Icons in the game, including players from the Centurions Icon roster – something we haven’t seen in any SBC this year.
Think of it as a step up from the recent Hero Player Pick SBC, but with better rewards if you get lucky. You’ll need to build three different squads to complete it, and yes, one needs a Team of the Week player. But when you could pack someone like Ronaldo Nazario, Pele, or Ronaldinho, it might be worth taking a shot. Let’s look at how to complete this SBC without breaking the bank.
What You Need for the SBC
Here are the three squads you’ll need to build:
85-rated squad
- You’ll need one Team of the Week player in there
- Overall team rating needs to be 85
86-rated squad
- Just needs to be rated 86 overall – nice and simple
87-rated squad
- This one needs to hit an 87 rating

Is It Worth Your Coins?
The whole SBC will cost you around 140,000 coins, which isn’t bad at all considering what you could pack. With fodder prices down thanks to the Winter Wildcards promo, now’s actually a pretty good time to complete it. Sure, it’s a bit of a gamble, but getting a top Icon could really change your team. Plus, you’re guaranteed at least an 87-rated Icon, so you can’t go too wrong.
If you’re thinking about it, we’d say go for it – especially if you’ve got some fodder sitting in your club. The requirements are pretty reasonable, and who knows? You might just pack one of those game-changing Icons everyone wants.
