Dune Awakening’s Arrakis seems different. This is a world where Paul Atreides was never born, and the butterfly effect of that has escalated into a full-blown Atreides/Harkonnen conflict. Even the Fremen are missing in this world.
While it may seem like a different world at a glance, it is still very much the Arrakis you love (and hate). The heat is out to run you dry, there are people constantly agitated with slippery trigger fingers, and there are sandworms all around. While this may seem bad, the worst offender is no doubt the quicksands.
Arrakis is full of sand and death, so it comes as absolutely no surprise that it has deadly sands such as quicksand. These sands slowly swallow you whole, crushing your ribs and lungs along with every ounce of hope in your body. The death stings a whole lot more due to the death penalty, where you end up losing a portion of the items you’re carrying. But what if we told you there was a way to escape the quicksand and live to fight another day? In this guide, we shall go over how to escape quicksand in Dune Awakening.

How To Get Out of Quicksand in Dune Awakening

As stated earlier, quicksands are death in Arrakis—a death that slowly swallows you and your vehicle whole. If you’re traveling across the desert planet and suddenly find yourself sinking into sand, do not panic and carefully follow the steps given below:
- As soon as you find your vehicle slowly sinking into the sand, quickly get out of your vehicle. Your vehicle is heavy and will sink faster than you, so abandoning it should be your first priority.
- Once you’re off the sandbike, your feet will slowly begin sinking into the sand as well. Use the Shigawire Claw ability to quickly leap out of the sand and to a safe distance.
- Now, if you don’t wish to lose your bike, quickly equip the Vehicle Backup Tool and use it to deploy a backup sandbike. This will save both you and your vehicle.
