If you are looking to mine some Carbon Ore, here is a guide on farming some and the necessary upgrades to make in Dune Awakening.
Carbon Ore is one of the most important minerals you need to farm in Dune Awakening. However, you won’t necessarily obtain it in the early stages of your playthrough. It’s a Tier 3 ore, so you will be mining a ton of Copper Ore and Iron Ore before you can start mining Carbon Ore.
Once you make the right upgrades to your Cutteray to mine Carbon Ore, you won’t find it casually around obvious locations on the map. It’s scattered across different regions, so you need to search for it. To help you out, here is a guide on how you can get Carbon Ore in Dune Awakening.

Tips on How To Farm Carbon Ore in Dune Awakening
To farm Carbon Ore, you first need to reach the area north of Vermillus Gap called Jabal Efrit Al-Janub. However, don’t rush to get there unprepared. Take your time, as you still need to have the right upgrades to mine this type of mineral.
To mine some Carbon Ore, you need to unlock and craft the Cutteray Mk2 upgrade. You can craft one using the following materials:
- 10x Iron Ingot
- 7x EMF Generator
Keep in mind that this tool requires a power pack to function. Once you have the necessary upgrade, you can travel north of Vermillus Gap. You can find these minerals tucked away in rocky areas. If you see a shiny white rock, you can bet it’s a Carbon Ore deposit that you can mine using the Cutteray.
Alternatively, if you don’t have the proper upgrade for your Cutteray, you can sometimes pick up small chunks of Carbon Ore on the ground. However, it’s not an efficient way to farm this mineral. It’s a slow process and not worth the time and effort. You’re better off grinding to get the Cutteray Mk2 to collect more Carbon Ore.
If you want to save more time, relocate your base to where the Carbon Ores are located. However, remember not to build on open sand so you won’t have to deal with a Sandworm destroying your base.
