In this guide, we’ll provide a few tips and tricks that should help you to Farm Spice Melange solo in Dune Awakening.

Dune Awakening mostly doesn’t force players to participate in its PvP elements, as there is plenty to do in just its PvE portion. So, you could remain busy for countless hours just tackling the PvE quests and activities. However, during the late game stages, you will need to get your hands on plenty of Spice Melange, which you get from refining Spice Sand. Spice Sand is only available in the Deep Desert, which is the PvPvE arena of the game.
Needless to say, the dangers of heading into the Deep Desert underprepared are massive. And this is doubly true if you’re looking to farm Spice Melange solo in Dune Awakening. In this guide, we’ll explain how solo players can farm the item in relative safety.
Tips To Farm Spice Melange Solo in Dune Awakening
As we stated, you won’t collect the end product, Spice Melange, from out in the world. Instead, you’ll need to gather Spice Sand and then refine it. For that, you need to get to the Deep Desert using your Ornithopter. However, once you’re there, you’ll run into hostile players who’ll want all the Spice Sand for themselves and will likely attack you on sight. If other players don’t get to you, Shai Hulud surely will.
You will get the attention of the worm sooner or later, and as a solo player, you can’t really do much once it gets there. The following are some tips that should allow you to remain in the Deep Desert long enough to get some quality Spice Sand.
Carry Minimal Gear

You should only take your Ornithopter, Static Compactor, Softsteps Boots, and Powerpack when visiting the Deep Desert alone. This way, you can minimize the risk of losing your items out there. The primary risk is losing your Ornithopter. We suggest getting it upgraded to Mk5 or Mk6 before venturing to this location.
Also use vehicle backup to keep the Ornithopter protected even if you can’t save your other items. The Static Compactor is mandatory for salvaging Spice Sand, while the Softsteps Boots will help you remain on the ground for a bit longer before Shai Hulud notices and rushes to your location.

Avoid Player Peak Hours
Find out the peak hours when the player count is at its max in the game. Make sure you do not venture into the Deep Desert during these times. This should help you minimize the risk of encountering hostile player groups while looking for the Spice Sand.
Invest Skill Points in the Planetologist Tree

Dune Awakening has an open class system, allowing you to learn and invest points in the skill trees of all five classes, regardless of your starting class. So, even if you didn’t start off as a Planetologist, you can still unlock its skill tree and learn its abilities as you play through the game.
We suggest bolstering this skill tree significantly before trying to farm Spice Melange solo in Dune Awakening. The Planetologist’s skills can help improve your efficiency with the Powerpack and the Compactor. Also, some of the skills can improve the durability of your Ornithopter.
