Getting across the map in Dragon Age: The Veilguard can be tedious. Learn how to Fast Travel and let Rook be a punctual fellow.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard fortunately offers convenient Fast Travel in the game. A typical RPG would be a little problematic without a Fast Travel option. Games with vast open-world maps don’t blend in well if players don’t have the means to save them a trip across the world.
In the latest Dragon Age game, you have to look out for sharp-looking beacons that may resemble short white monoliths. These artsy pieces of structure are not there just for decorations. You can use them to travel in an instant across Thedas, and if you are already near one, interact with it to change your active party members. They also work as respawn points. If you die in battle, you and your party members will come back to life at the Fast Travel beacon nearest to your last known spot.
This makes learning how to Fast Travel an important aspect of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. So, if you were also looking for a way to do it, let us help you. Once you have it, all you have to do is open your map, hover over an active beacon, and hold the interaction prompt.
How to Unlock Fast Travel in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Like many other games, The Veilguard’s Fast Travel doesn’t unlock until after you have finished a few quests. However, the games doesn’t stop you from unlocking the locations you can Fast Travel to.
For example, BioWare added beacons to let players Fast Travel to a specific location. Even if the feature hasn’t been unlocked in your playthrough yet, you can still activate the beacons you find in your way. So, whenever you gain access, you can use them right away.
The Fast Travel will unlock soon after the Shadows Crossing quest when you return from D’Meta’s Crossing. This happens in Chapter 2. So, it’s pretty early on in the game. If you have activated some beacons by that time by walking close to them, you can start using them right away.
However, note that sometimes you can discover a beacon on the map while exploring and still not activate it. Walk up close to the beacon to list it in your Fast Travel network. If a beacon has been discovered but not activated, it will conveniently show up on your map in a dark gray color. This way, you can activate it later when you are in a surrounding area.
We hope this guide is enough to help reach Rook where they need to be on time.
