Once you find one of the structures, look for chests inside to find various loot along with a buried treasure map.
Shipwrecks mostly generate on shores. However, there are times they can spawn in the middle of the ocean. Additionally, they can also spawn above land, allowing you to explore it without going underwater.

How To Use Treasure Maps in Minecraft?
