Who Is the Furniture Trader in 99 Nights in the Forest?
The Furniture Trader is part of the new Decorator Class update. He travels the map with a horse-drawn cart and sells cosmetic furniture pieces that you can place at your camp. These don’t offer any gameplay boosts, but they do let you customize your setup visually.
If you’re using the Decorator class, you’ll get an extra item option whenever the trader appears.
How To Know When the Furniture Trader Appears
The trader appears randomly in different locations across the map, but there are a few ways to know he’s nearby:
- Sound notification: You’ll hear a distinct sound cue when he spawns.
- Map icon: A new trader icon will show up on your map, marking his exact location.
Once you see the icon, head toward it as quickly as you can. He doesn’t stay forever, and his stock rotates each visit.
Where To Find the Furniture Trader
There’s no single fixed spawn point for the Furniture Trader. Instead, he randomly appears in different buildings or clearings throughout the forest. As you explore, you may also come across coin stacks, small piles of coins you can collect from the environment or as drops from cultists.
These coins are the main currency used to purchase furniture.
What the Furniture Trader Sells
When you interact with the trader, you’ll see a rotating stock of decorative items. Some of the things players have found include:
- Camping Chairs (various colors)
- Wooden Stools
- Rugs
- Signposts
- Fairy Lights
- Pillows
Some of these are Legendary rarity and might not appear every time. Buy what you can when you see them, especially if you’re using the Decorator class, which adds a bonus item option.
How to Place and Move Furniture
Once you buy an item, it appears as a blueprint in your inventory. Place it just like you would any other structure in the game:
- Activate the furniture item from your inventory.
- Position it within your camp and confirm the placement.
To move or pick up furniture, you’ll need to equip the new hammer tool—another key part of the Decorator class. Without it, you won’t be able to adjust or remove items once placed.

- Save your coins: Some furniture items are rare and cost more.
- Check the map often: The trader won’t stay in one place forever.
