How To Craft a Fishing Rod in Minecraft
To craft a fishing rod, all you need are five items of two kinds. You will require three sticks and two strings. Sticks can easily be gathered by chopping off wood from trees, turning it into planks, and then into sticks. So, one log should give you eight sticks. Strings, on the other hand, can be found in chests inside caves or as a drop after killing spider mobs during the night.
Once the items are collected, put them inside the crafting table, with the three sticks lined up diagonally, starting from the lower left corner and ending at the upper right corner. Now, we add the two strings to the last two blocks on the right side. Once placed in the right order, you can collect the fishing rod.
What Are the Best Enchantments for the Fishing Rod in Minecraft
Once your fishing rod is ready, you will have to go near any water body, preferably at least having a 3×3 block radius. You can stand in the water or outside, as long as you have enough area to throw the string inside the water. While the fishing rod can be fitted with tons of enchantments, few are much more useful and aid you in making the best use of your time.
Luck of the Sea: This enchantment, in my books, is the best. Not only does it increase your chances of acquiring rarer items such as enchanted books, name tags, or weapons, but it also gives us a higher level of enchantments for certain items. There are three levels to it, each increasing the chances of better items.
Lure: This enchantment increases the rate at which you are prompted to reel the fishing rod back. It makes each throw quick and saves you ample time. There are three levels to this enchantment, the third giving the best bang for your buck. With each level, five seconds are subtracted from your wait time.
Mending: A fishing rod with the mending enchantment practically makes the rod invincible. Mending works similarly with all the weapons using it. While holding the fishing rod, if you go and collect the little colorful orbs, which act as XP in the game, it restores a portion of its health. While fishing, each successful reel drop gives you XP, which you can collect to keep restoring your rod’s health.
Unbreakable: Unbreaking works similarly to the Mending enchantment. But in this case, it considerably reduces the chances of your fishing rod taking any damage per use. With the highest level, which is three, the chances are even lower. With mending and unbreakable, you will never need to worry about ever losing your rod to low health.

While fishing, you are subject to various rewards, either in the form of treasure or junk.
