You will first run into Aluminum ore while exploring the Eastern Shield Wall area. Simply head north from the Jabal Eifrit location to reach this spot on the game’s map. However, you might not be able to mine the Aluminum ores yet. For that, you’ll first have to craft the Mk3 version of the Cutteray. Cobalt Paste, EMF Generators, Steel and Ray Amplifiers are the ingredients that you’ll need to craft this upgrade for the Cutteray. With it equipped, you can finally mine the Aluminum ores.

To begin mining in this specific area, you should head north from the Ironwatch location and follow the contours of the cliffs in this region. You will find plenty of Aluminum and Basalt ore here. If you have a buggy, you can equip it with a Mining Ray to make the mining process much easier and quicker.

Traversing the entire route on a buggy shouldn’t take you more than 15 minutes. You can return to this area later to get more Aluminum ore since the resources spawn once more after a couple of in-game days.

After you collect Aluminum ore in the game, you’ll need to use a Small Ore Refinery to turn it into an Aluminum Ingot. You will require these ingots to craft a variety of important items in the game. For instance, if you’re trying to get access to an Ornithopter early on, you will need to craft 241x Aluminum Ingots, which will require around 1700x Aluminum Ores. Keep in mind that you also need a substantial amount of water to fabricate every Aluminum Ingot.

You can also use the Aluminum you collect to upgrade weapons and items to the Aluminum level, which makes the items sturdier and less prone to getting damaged upon use.
