In Dune Awakening, you will need to constantly upgrade your gear and equipment. Similarly, you will also need to expand the area around your base that you control. Expanding your land stake is easier said than done, however.

You will require a specific item called the Staking Unit if you want to expand the reaches of your control. And, you can’t find the item just lying around anywhere. Instead, you’ll need to unlock its schematic and then fabricate it. So, in this guide, we’ll explore how you can get a Staking Unit in Dune Awakening.

You will first need to unlock the schematic for the Staking Unit from the research menu. To do that, you will have to spend 10x Intel Points. Also, you need to have already spent 100x or more Intel Points by this time. Otherwise, the research option won’t be available.

Once the research is complete, head to a Survival Fabricator. You should have one in your base by this point in the game. Fabricating the Staking Unit requires the following ingredients. You can either collect or buy these items.

  • 15x Steel Ingots
  • 15000 Solari

If you don’t want to go down the crafting route, you can also purchase a Staking Unit from other players. To do this, you can use the Exchange mechanic in the game. Keep in mind that the prices for items can vary greatly when using this menu. You can also initiate direct trading with other players. Visit one of the social hubs, such as Harko Village or Arrakeen, to meet other players and begin the trade.

How To Use Staking Unit in Dune Awakening

If you want to use the Staking Unit, you need to first travel to the edge of your territory. This is exactly where your staked land ends and the unclaimed territory awaits. Once there, equip the Staking Unit and aim it at the unclaimed portion of land. Then, use it to expand your territory and claim the new land.

Keep in mind that the Staking Unit is a single-use item. So, the next time you need to expand your borders, you’ll need to either craft or buy another one of these items.
