Setting up a Windtrap in your base is a major upgrade in Dune Awakening, as it automatically produces water from the environment over time. While the early-game tools like Dew Reaper or Deathstill help manage your hydration, Windtraps take it to the next level. They collect water passively, even when you are offline, as long as they have power.

However, Windtraps require Filters to function. The game features three different types of filters. This guide explains everything about Windtrap Filters in Dune Awakening, explaining how to get and use them.

To make Filters for Windtrap, you first need to construct a Survival Fabricator at your base. The fabricator allows you to create all three Filter types—Makeshift, Standard, and Particulate. While the Makeshift and Standard Filters are used with regular Windtraps, the Particulate Filter is specifically designed for Large Windtraps. Interact with the Survival Fabricator to craft Filters with the following materials:

The Filters are essential for Windtraps to operate, as they remove unwanted sand, dust, and particles, making the collected water safe to drink. Upon crafting Filters, interact with the Windtrap to deposit them. The uptime displays the total power and determines how long the device will continue to run.

If you deposit more Filters or higher-quality ones (standard), it increases the total uptime, granting more running time. Depositing a Makeshift Filter in the standard Windtrap adds 3 hours to the uptime, while a Standard Filter adds 8 hours. Remember, the Particulate Filter is used for Large Windtraps.
